Durban Super GiantsPretoria CapitalsDSG vs PC Pitch Report
Kingsmead, Durban
This is a ground where bowlers stay in the game, and totals at Kingsmead are usually on the low side.
The first-innings average over the last 40 T20 games at this ground is 143, and 128 in the second innings. Anything in the 135-150 range should make a competitive total. There is little to choose between batting first and chasing, 21 wins to 19 across the last 40 decided games.
The last 5 first-innings scores here, newest first: 131/6 (LIO-W, won), 95 (TIT-W, lost), 94 (WARR, lost), 125/5 (DOL-W, won), 127/7 (SWD-W, lost). The pitch has played slower lately: the last 5 first innings averaged 114, below the ground average of 143. First-innings totals here have ranged from 59 to 210 in that time.
Toss call: there is not much in it, but most captains will still choose to chase.
