Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh T20I Series 2025: The host nation Sri Lanka who lost the 2nd ODI match at Colombo against the visitors Bangladesh for the first time in 12 ODI matches at Colombo are set for the series decider at Palakelle. Ahead of the 3rd ODI the Sri Lanka Cricket Board announced the T20I squad for the upcoming three match T20I series.
One of the major names announced in the squad is of Dasun Shanaka, the former Sri Lankan white ball captain. Shanka last played in the shortest format for the Island nation in July 2024. He has been around the world playing T20 Leagues and was also part of the Dubai Capitals which won the ILT20 2025. His primary role is that of a finisher in the side.
Another notable senior player making his comeback is Chamika Karunaratne, who last turned out for the Lankan side in November 2023. Since then he has worked hard in the domestic t20 cricket and the Lanka Premier League. Karunaratne is only the third player to score more than 300 runs and taken at least 20 wickets in t20 tournaments.
One of the young stars making a comeback is Eeshan Malinga who impressed with his stint for the SRH in the IPL 2025 season. Malinga bagged 13 wickets and was consistent with his line and lengths. In fact since his debut in T20 cricket, he has gone wicket less only once in 27 innings.
Dunith Wellalage is back in the mix he will most probably be the back up spinner alongside Jeffery Vandersay for Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga. The seam bowling lineup comprises of Matheesha Pathirana, Nuwan Thushara and Binura Fernando.
