MI Cape Town entered the tournament with a squad full of Superstar players last season. The team Looked as good as the dream T20 team in the cricketing world. Unfortunately, the dream team ended the Betway SA20 season 1 on a sad note being at the bottom of the table. The team couldn’t able to live up to the expectations they had at the start of the tournament.
Know Your Players
Adding fuel to the fire, MI Cape Town brought in T20 specialist Kieron Pollard for season 2. The well-known Caribbean hard-hitter will be on standby for Rashid Khan.
MI Cape Town are certainly looking brighter with the inclusion of stalwarts like Afghanistan’s Khan, the English pair Sam Curran and Liam Livingstone, and the formidable Proteas trio consisting of Kagiso Rabada, George Linde, and Rassie van der Dussen. The addition of such talents gives the fans come out stronger again with high hopes again this year. Also, MI Cape Town seems poised for a competitive and promising run in Season 2.
Some serious changes ahead of season 2 by the team management. Proteas all-rounder Robin Peterson, who previously fulfilled the role of General Manager. Now taking over as Head Coach, replacing Australian veteran Simon Katich. He also has the experience of recently guiding MI New York to the inaugural Major League Cricket Title. Robin will be looking to mark his presence in his home country.
