England, under the captaincy of Nat Sciver Brunt, will need to look out for strategies to bounce back in the series. The Captain has led from the front in the batting line-up. Tammy Beaumont, Amy Jones, and Sophie Ecclestone displayed positive performance with the bat in the 2nd T20I. Beaumont scored the half-century (54 off 35) with eight boundaries and one maximum. Meanwhile, Jones (32 off 27) and Ecclestone (35 off 23) challenged Indian bowlers to take early wickets.
Lauren Bell is the second-highest wicket-taker in the T20I series. Bell has clinched five wickets with an economy rate of 5.50. Mandhana is the series’ top run-scorer with 125 runs in two innings, including a century (112 off 61) in the first match. However, Shafali Verma’s performance will be a concern for the team as she looked rusty. Shafali has scored 23 runs with a strike rate of 88.56 in two innings. Harleen Deol’s quick-fire 43 in 23 balls paved her comeback in the T20I team. However, she was dropped in the 2nd T20I as Harmanpreet Kaur returned from an injury.
India’s young debutant bowler Shree Charani looks promising with her performances in the first two matches. Charani took a blistering (4-12) in her debut match, including big names of English skipper Nat Sciver Brunt and Alice Capsey. Amanjot Kaur was announced Player of the match as she scored (63* off 39) and took one wicket (1/28). Richa Ghosh, as a finisher, has played her part sincerely. Her important knock (32* off 20) helped India finish at 181 in the 2nd T20I match. India’s middle order has depth as batters show good form.
