The incident occurred during the ninth over of the innings, as Pandya was in the middle of a fiery spell of bowling. Litton Das, a Bangladeshi batsman, attempted a straight drive, prompting Pandya to make a valiant effort to halt the ball. In the process, Pandya twisted his left leg and tumbled over, causing immediate concern among the players and the spectators.
The Indian medical team swiftly rushed to his side as Hardik Pandya attempted to stand up and walk, only to collapse back to the ground. Initial apprehensions circulated that the injury might be related to his knee, which would have been a significant blow to the Indian team.
As a result of the injury, Pandya had to withdraw from his bowling duties and was unable to take the field for the remainder of the match. This absence did not deter his teammates, as India went on to secure a convincing seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh.

“Team India vice-captain Hardik Pandya sustained an injury to his left ankle while fielding on his own bowling during India’s match against Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. The all-rounder was taken for scans and is advised rest. He will be under the constant supervision of the BCCI Medical Team.
He will not be taking the flight to Dharamsala with the team on 20th October and will now join the team directly in Lucknow where India play England.”
