New Zealand captain Kane Williamson is about to make his much-awaited debut at the 2023 Cricket World Cup. His remarkable comeback from an ACL injury has brought him back to the team. The captain, who has been the cornerstone of New Zealand’s cricketing triumph throughout the years, spoke to the media on Friday prior to their pivotal match against Bangladesh at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. Kane Williamson is cleared and is preparing for action again as per recent updates from New Zealand’s medical staff.

Williamson, who boasts an impressive 161 ODIs under his belt, took a moment to reflect on his remarkable journey to regain match-ready fitness. During the press conference, Williamson stated, “It’s been quite a journey but largely a good one that’s had some really good progress and you know I’ve said several times, (I’m) excited to be named in the World Cup squad, be sitting here now and excited at the prospect of tomorrow, which is another big challenge for us.”

Kane Williamson’s inclusion back into the team is a good development for the cricket team in New Zealand. Being one of the best batsmen in the world and a well-liked leader, he is essential for his team’s success. With two convincing wins, New Zealand’s excellent start to the World Cup campaign has increased the excitement around his return. The team’s performance and morale should soar with Williamson’s return as they want to extend their winning streak in the competition.

Who Will Kane Williamson Replace in the Playing XI?

New Zealand has been phenomenal in tournament so far winning both their matches. Their top order has performed exceptionally well without their main man Kane Williamson and on his return there is one of the two players that can excluded from the team. Will Young who scored 70 runs in the last match against Netherlands.

The other player that can be dropped from the playing 11 is Mark Chapman. If Williamson makes way for Mark Chapman then he will at number 3 position and Rachin Ravindra will have to bat at number 4.

The leader of New Zealand’s bowling attack Tim Southee is fit and available for selection after missing out the first two games of the tournament due to a thumb surgery. The Black Caps are expected to few changes to their playing XI by including their key players in the lineup.

New Zealand’s Playing XI against Bangladesh: Kane Williamson (Captain), Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Tom Latham (wk), Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell Santner, Matt Henry, Lockie Gerguson
