The right-hander played some special knocks in the World Cup this year. Gill made a record by being the youngest to score a double hundred, now he has cemented a place in the Indian cricket team.
Virat Kohli
The run machine proved his excellence once again, featuring in 27 ODIs and scoring 1377 runs. In the World Cup, he came out as the highest run-getter by scoring 765 runs in 11 matches. Kohli made a ton of runs this year and took the game away from the opponents. His consistent knock in this whole tournament made the Indian cricket team march towards the final.
Rohit Sharma
The Indian captain is the third leading run-getter in the list. Hitman finishes the year with 1255 in 27 ODIs with an outstanding strike rate of 117.07. Shreyas Iyer
Not on the list but never a disappointing year, scored 846 runs by playing 20 games this year. With an exceptional strike rate of 112.50, Iyer smashed 4 consecutive fifty-plus scores including a hundred in the World Cup. Iyer held the Indian middle order together and cemented his spot as the best number 4 batsman in ODI cricket for India. He is one among the three Indians who scored 500-plus runs in this World Cup tournament.
